Event description

Description

The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission is pleased to host a forum on “Community Planning for Autism.” Individuals with autism face many challenges as they go about their daily lives in our built environments. Stress, anxiety and sensory overload are among conditions that can be exasperated depending on the environment. This forum will reveal how aspects of existing built environments, such as housing and transportation, can be altered to allow autistic individuals to thrive. Learn causal factors and gain greater awareness of the key planning aspects to improve the quality of life for our caregivers, families, and individuals impacted by autism.

Registered participants can choose to enjoy the forum over lunch at the MORPC office, or elect to participate via webinar.

Our featured speakers include:

  • Professor Kyle Ezell OSU Knowlton School of Architecture
  • Kim Stands Human Services Coordinator, City of Columbus
  • Rick SteinPresident, Urban Design Group

For more information, please contact Eileen Leuby, Membership Services Officer, at the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission via eleuby@morpc.org or 614.233.4135.
