Event description

Description

The unchecked use of surveillance technologies by MPD and other District agencies poses significant threats to the civil rights and civil liberties of all D.C. residents. Unchecked government surveillance contributes to an oppressive environment in which privacy rights are routinely violated and all residents are treated as prospective criminals.

We invite you to a town hall discussion where experts in tech, law, and community impact will discuss the problem of unchecked surveillance and how District residents and leaders can work together to bring transparency and oversight to DC government acquisition and use of surveillance technologies.
