Event description

Description

This is the second year for this Community Impact Project group. The group is building upon their work from last year when they visited a homeless shelter and worked with youth and families there. This project group wants to create a film to document their experience visiting, interviewing, and feeding homeless youth and families in the San Antonio neighborhood of Oakland. Their intention is tell the story of one homeless person as the feature in the film. The group would like to host a showing of their video with interactive stations like an art gallery. In addition, there will be an accompanying social media campaign.

Join us for their presentation on their project goals and outcomes. As a volunteer panel judge, you will listen to their project workplan and provide feedback on their next steps. If their project is approved, they will receive funding to fully implement their project.

Please note: we are seeking volunteers with backgrounds in film, policy, project management and/or Oakland residents concerned about the increase in homelessness in East Oakland.
