Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Racism and its partner white privilege permeate all aspects of our lives, every day.

What can we do to make a difference?

Join "One Circle Forward" for the first in a series

of what we hope will be enlightening and engaging

conversations on these important topics.

Informal gathering (6-6:30) to connect,

learn more about our plans, and get involved.

Program to begin promptly at 6:30

The series of conversations will be facilitated by Mark Hilgendorf. Mark, an alumnus of WFBHS, earned a BA at UW Madison, a Masters at Northwestern and a PHD in African-American History from Duke. Add to that his 35 years of experience teaching Social Sciences & History at the Milton Academy in Massachusetts and you understand why we are pleased to provide a platform for his wealth of knowledge.

With a flexible and interactive format for the series, together,

we hope to explore and strengthen our understanding of:

  • the social structures and systems that are the foundation of racial injustice in greater Milwaukee and throughout our country.

  • how our individual actions and inactions help perpetuate these systems

  • what we as individuals can do to promote positive change

Questions and comments welcome. Email us at onecircleforward@gmail.com

The task is great, and we can’t

promise that it will be easy.

Showing up is the first step, so

PLEASE JOIN US.
