For the month of March, the Service Project Committee is inviting members to join the Second Harvest North Florida Community Garden Initiative for the launch of a brand-new garden on Pierce Street on Saturday, March 2nd. We will be building beds, installing in-ground garden rows, building a shed and installing irrigation lines (time permitting). Anticipate getting a bit dirty and be ready to work outside! Please wear your AmeriCorps t-shirt or sweatshirt and closed-toed shoes you don't mind getting dirty. **ALSO** Although the service project time for that day is 10:00-1:00, the event also has available volunteer slots for the 1:00-4:00 time frame during which volunteers will be assisting doing the same work. If you would like to do this as outside service go ahead and sign up on an individual basis via the second harvest website. Here is the link for the event: http://www.wenourishhope.org/events/2013/community-garden-build **Please note that if you are signing up for the SP time slot of 10:00-1:00 you DO NOT need to sign up directly through the above website--the SPC has already reserved our spots so signing up via eventbrite is all that is necessary.
