An evening reception will be held on Thursday February 28th, 2019 to launch the Transformations Photo Journalism Exhibit featuring the stories of several local change-makers in partnership with the Ontario Council for International Cooperation. Refreshments and guest speakers. Free. Registration requested.

Friday March 1st, 2019 ($30 per ticket includes lunch, coffee and snacks):

Doors open at 8:00am. Program begins promptly at 8:30am to 4pm.

On Mar 1st, we will gather to understand the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Canada`s commitment and to learn how local community initiatives connect to the SDGS and national targets.

The UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, featuring the 17 Sustainable Development Goals  (SDGs), was unanimously adopted by world leaders at a historic UN summit in September 2015. By aligning national priorities with the 2030 Agenda and working together with the private sector and civil society, governments have started to mobilize efforts to end poverty, address inequalities and tackle climate change by 2030.

Communities across Canada are engaging in conversation and action on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We invite you to help us bring the Peterborough area into this important conversation and hope you will join us.

About Accessibility:

Our organizing committee is dedicated to creating accessible, inclusive and welcoming spaces. For example, this forum will be a reduced electromagnetic space to accommodate participants with EMHS (electromagnetic hyper-sensitivity). This means participants are asked to keep technology on flight mode during the sessions and use a dedicated space to make calls, check messages, etc. during the day. Please complete the registration form to let us know how we can support any other accommodations to enable your fullest participation.

Additionally, subsidy requests can be made directly to Rob Monico at robert.monico@flemingcollege.ca to help accommodate any financial concerns potential participants may have.
