Event description

Description

Join LACONI-OPP and renowned visual artist Edra Soto for a morning of art making and instruction that will inspire you to engage your communities beyond the walls of your library.

Participate in a unique social crafting project based on found objects. A selection of found glass bottles and other supplies will be provided. Please feel free to bring your own found bottles or objects, artifacts and embellishments if you’d prefer to use them in the project. Through the act of creating together, Soto will demonstrate how we can better engage our community members, giving nuance to the transition from participant to co-creator.

Soto’s show “Edra Soto: Open 24 HOURS” is the basis for the hands-on project and philosophy, and was displayed during the spring of 2018 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.

Cost: $20 member/ $30 non-member (includes breakfast 9:30- 10am & program 10am- 12pm)

Registration Opens: Wednesday July 11th, 2018
