Event description

Description

Music, visual art, theater and other programs help develop important cognitive, fine motor and social skills in children. Yet each year, public school districts face deeper cuts in school budgets for arts programs. What can be done to ensure public school students are exposed to these formative experiences?

The Rhode Island Foundation and Rhode Island Monthly present the latest edition in the Rhode Island PBS Community Conversations series, The Future of Arts Education: What's at Stake? Host Mario Hilario will moderate a discussion with a broad range of guests, as they and the live studio audience explore options and the creative responses from schools, parents, students and the greater arts community. We invite you to attend the taping of this panel on Thursday, September 28th at the Rhode Island PBS studio to join in on the conversation.

Drinks and light refreshments to be served after the panel.

You must RSVP by Tuesday, September 26th to reserve your seat as space is very limited. Walk-ins at the door will not be accepted.

Interested in asking a question to our panelists? Email marketing@rimonthly.com by Tuesday, September 26th for details.
