Description

Sam Mihara, award-winning historian, will be sharing his family’s experience in a Japanese-American internment camp during World War II while tying atrocities in the past to modern issues.

This free presentation will be on May 2 from 530-7pm at the Manitowoc Public Library.

Following the presentation, the Museum will host an extended conversation about how issues like immigration, civil rights and human bias affect our community today.

This conversation will be on May 4 from 10-11am at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum.

These community events are made possible by generous support from the Wisconsin Humanities Council.
