Event description

Description

What does community mean to you? How can we impact the critical social issues that face us?

Join fellow community members over good food and good conversation as we hear what's happening in our state from experts in domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. This is your opportunity to engage in this crucial conversation and deepen your understanding of these complex issues.

Don't worry, it's fun too! You'll be sitting with 6-8 new friends and following a conversation guide designed to help you explore perspectives and experiences different from your own. It is not a debate and we welcome all opinions, we just ask that participants be willing to listen to and try to understand each other.

This event is in conjunction with the launch of CourtWatch: A UCASA Initiative, which aims at strengthening trust in the judiciary and awareness in the community by observing and collecting data on all court proceedings dealing with domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. There will be several other local agencies presenting the resources they offer the community around these issues as well.
