THE EVENT

The Community Concert! series is sponsored and organized by The BSW Music Fund to raise awareness about and encourage support of the non-profit scholarship fund. It is also a conduit for community performing artists to gain exposure for their talent. Donations are accepted at the door, however, reserving online now guarantees optimal seating.

Bring and distribute promotional material for your business and enjoy appearances by superbly talented performing artists. Featured during the 2018 fall concert are: Pianist Theo Akinyele, Christopher "Chris Beatz" Leath (Synthesizer) who is a former WSSU Band member, Hab "The Funky Drummer" Richardson of Winston-Salem, NC with members of the Versatility Project of Augusta, Georgia (Rene Cofer/Horns, William Knight/Bass, Wayne Hill/Keyboard, Jonathan Frazier/Guitar, and Montegas Dawson-Percussion and Keyboard) and with special guest Vocalist, Stephanie B. Hurt of Royal Curtain Drama Guild along with Joel Z. Hurt (Alumnus, Debbie Allen Summer Dance Academy). Also featured: Julius Morrison (Keyboard) and his Quick Image Band of Winston-Salem, NC with special guests--Michael Cannon/Drums, Jesse Staton/Guitar, Monte Odom/Vocals, and Darryl Little/Bass, as well as Community Performing Arts Advocate and Educator Brenda G. Endless thanks to 90.5 FM WSNC Radio for its advocacy, including but not limited to, Mr. Jo "Dread" Daniels of The Vibe Reggae Show, Urban Standard II Band, Cinnamon Reggae Band, and Vision Digital Projects (for his assistance with stage production and sound), Mr. James "Jim" Steele of the Afternoon Jazz Show; and Mrs. Darlene Vinson, the Gospel Announcer of the Year, among many others!
