This is GaneshSpace’s monthly community gathering to practice embodying social justice, community care, and self-reflection.

About this event

This is GaneshSpace’s monthly community gathering to practice embodying social justice, community care, and self-reflection. These circles are an opportunity for our community to come together in a brave space and be heard, affirmed and seen. These circles provide the space to check in on one's social justice learning journey and how we as a community can support each other with care and accountability to create the change in the world we want to see. By practicing expression and uplifting each other, it is our hope that compassion will be cultivated into our everyday lives.

Every month we will be exploring a different theme and our conversation will be grounded in Buddhism, from Thich Nhat Hanh's Plum Village's tradition and lineage, using these teachings as a way to lens for understanding. This monthly space is led by our Founder Kim Thai (she/her).

What you can expect:

  • Grounding breath + bell
  • Community well-being check-in
  • Dharma talk from Kim Thai, GaneshSpace Founder
  • 10-minute meditation practice
  • Self-reflection questions
  • Community sharing + uplifting
  • Closing gratitude

About Kim Thai:

Kim Thai (she/her) is an Emmy-award-winning producer, writer, social justice advocate and mindfulness teacher. As a queer Asian woman and a proud kid of Vietnamese refugees, she shares Buddhist teachings to help people find the freedom and power that lives within themselves.

She is the founder of GaneshSpace, a grassroots community organization dedicated to advancing social justice through mindfulness education. We practice cultivating awareness through our breath to honor the identities we embody; and to reflect on the power and privilege we each hold. We believe our liberation is dependent on one another; and by healing ourselves, we can create collective change together.
