Event description

Description

In envisioning a healthier and collaborative academic culture, we are pleased to announce our inaugural community building event for graduate students and junior faculty in Asia/Asian American Studies at ASA. This event takes the first step in providing a safe space for students and faculty to ask questions, seek advice, and build community across universities and workplaces. In doing so, this event aims to:

· Provide an inclusive and inviting atmosphere for scholars of color

· Promote collaboration in scholarship and activism

· Build a community and support system for scholars of Asian and Asian American studies

About the space: A stone’s throw away from Grand Central Terminal, Urbanspace @ Vanderbilt brings over 20 artisanal and chef-driven food concepts to the heart of Midtown Manhattan. As a year-round culinary destination, Urbanspace @ Vanderbilt has quickly become one of New York’s most buzzed about food halls, featuring an unbeatable selection of rotating concepts inside a truly iconic New York space. Urbanspace also serves an array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Please note that each attendee will pay for their own drinks and food.

Kindly RSVP by Friday, August 9 at the latest.
