Event description

Description

Circle practices create space for all voices to hear and be heard. Community building circles are a foundational practice that may serve as a launchpad for other circle practices, such as Peace Circles. Through experiential means, participants learn foundational elements and protocols of circles and leave with the skills to facilitate community building circles of their own.

Community building circles, focused on building and cultivating relationships, may be used in a wide variety of applications with both adults and young people--in school, youth development, and business settings. Communities that use circles to intentionally build community are more emotionally intelligent, report fewer incidents of conflict, and report higher levels of well-being. Please join us for an interactive and meaningful session with colleagues from across the city!

Please join us for coffee and networking at 8:15am, and then engage in an interactive and meaningful session with colleagues from across the region! Registration will remain open until Friday, January 19th. Space is limited, so please register soon! If you have questions, please email Steph at pd @ umojacorporation.org.

Please Note: In order to make our workshops available to a broad and diverse audience, we are using a sliding scale payment model, which means you choose how much you pay. Paying at the lowest level is like receiving a scholarship, while paying at the highest level helps us cover the true cost of the workshop and helps make our sliding scale possible. Thank you for considering your situation and resources as you choose your registration level!

If you are a staff member at an Umoja Core Partner School, please email pd @ umojacorporation.org for registration support.
