Community Beer Works presents CBW at Larkin featuring a beer festival in Larkin Square with CBW and Resurgence brews on taps, food trucks and more with a free live stream of “CBC and The Tragically Hip present ‘The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration’”
21+ only - chairs allowed - no coolers or pets.
Thankfully, as the news of The Tragically Hip frontman Gord Downie's terminal brain cancer sent shockwaves around the band's native Canada and neighboring Buffalo, it was paired with an announcement of a tour unlike any other; the band is crossing their homeland culminating in their hometown of Kingston, Ontario, on Saturday, August 20th, this final show to be broadcast live on CBC.
"For those of us at Community Beer Works, The Tragically Hip have been the soundtrack for some of the most beautiful moments in our lives," said Chief Operating Officer Chris Smith. "I wanted to find a way for us to celebrate what this band has meant to us and to Buffalo. I feel like bringing a few thousand people together under the stars to celebrate this man and this band is a fitting tribute."
Admission to the festival is $10 and restricted to those 21 years of age and older with photo identification, with proceeds to Sunnybrook Foundation's Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research.
