Organized by Coko Foundation and Hypothesis with support from Europe PMC, ContentMine, PaperHive, and Pundit.

By meeting in person to discuss shared goals, we aim to open lines of communication between our existing projects and to continue to lay the foundation for a productive community towards our shared vision: a robust, open source ecosystem of interoperable, complementary tools for research and communication.

Organized by

Coko Foundation

Collaborative Knowledge Foundation (Coko) is building an open source technology and service ecosystem to improve the speed, reproducibility, and open accessibility of research. Coko’s community projects move research communication beyond legacy print-based workflows and enable publication of research at its earliest stages, including data, scientific posters, micropublications and preprints.

Annotating All Knowledge (AAK) is a coalition of some of the world’s key scholarly publishers, platforms, libraries, educational institutions, and technology organizations are coming together to create an open, interoperable annotation layer over their content.

Europe PMC

Europe PMC is a repository, providing access to worldwide life sciences articles, books, patents and clinical guidelines. Europe PMC provides links to relevant records in databases such as Uniprot, European Nucleotide Archive (ENA), Protein Data Bank Europe (PDBE) and BioStudies.

ContentMine provides open source software to download and analyse papers en masse, helping you filter by many custom criteria and feed the data into your preferred analysis and visualisation workflows.

PaperHive

PaperHive introduces seamless discussion of research papers directly in the browser, embedded in the regular workflow. This enables researchers to attach questions, corrections, formulas, figures, further literature, code, or data directly to the original text where everyone can benefit from it.

Pundit

Pundit is a web application that allows users to annotate web pages. Compared to others annotations tool Pundit is a bit “special” since it allows to create semantic annotations.
