Description: JASON offers a multitude of interdisciplinary, problem-based learning opportunities for students to connect with the community and apply design thinking principles in a variety of STEM fields. Real problem solving requires the intersection of multiple fields and disciplines. Explore how to leverage JASON's community-based challenges to engage students in meaningful, real-world problems. Challenge students to design a hiking trail with points of interest; design a management plan for a degraded ecosystem; erase food waste; bring internet access to the entire community, and so much more! Explore the benefits of community-based design thinking challenges and learn how to navigate the JASON platform to identify ones that will support what you are doing in your classroom this year.
