Description

This seminar program is comprised of four 1½ day retreats (Friday evening and full day Saturday) that take place over four consecutive months. Each retreat will be hosted at a Unitarian Universalist congregation in the Twin Cities metro area; Friday dinner and Saturday lunch and snacks are included in the cost of registration.


All retreats take place Friday evenings from 5:30-9:00pm, and Saturdays from 8:30am-5:00pm. Locations of the retreat will be emailed to you.

  • SESSION 1: Friday, February 23: 5:30-9:00pm & Saturday, February 24: 8:30am-5:00pm
  • SESSION 2: Friday, March 23: 5:30-9:00pm & Saturday, March 24: 8:30am-5:00pm
  • SESSION 3: Friday, April 20: 5:30-9:00pm & Saturday, April 21: 8:30am-5:00pm
  • SESSION 4: Friday, May 18: 5:30-9:00pm & Saturday, May 19: 8:30am-5:00pm

Cost: The cost of the full program is $750.00/person plus eventbrite fee.

Registration fee includes:

  • Four 1½ day retreats, including meals
  • Program Manual for Training Series
  • Copy of The Call to Care: Essays by Unitarian Universalist Chaplains, Edited by Rev. Karen Hutt (Skinner Books, 2016)
  • Individual coaching sessions with program leader(s)

Allowing educators to work closely with participants and provides a safe, comfortable environment for learning, and therefore group size will be limited to 20 total participants. Throughout the seminar series, participants will work with Unitarian Universalists from different churches in an effort to develop an inter-congregational network of skilled leaders in spiritual care.

Each retreat is thematic, and requires some preparatory work beforehand through email.
