About this Event
The Communist History Tour - is a FREE* walking tour of Budapest, it is perfect for those who want a short stroll through the city in the evening rather than a long hike. You will learn about the unique form of Goulash communism, and see the locations of major street fighting in the 1956 uprising. You will learn about what life was like in Communist Hungary and how communism came to be and finally end.
Meeting Place - Blaha Lujza tér Budapest, 1085. On the main square next to the fountain.
6pm on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday evenings.
Arrive at the meeting place and look for guides holding yellow umbrellas. The guide arrives 10 mins before the start of the tour.
Travel: The nearest metro station is Blaha. Trams 4/6 , 28a, 62 or 37 all travel to Blaha ter. *Free walking tours are tip based. You pay what you think the tour is worth by tipping the guides at the end. If you are unable to tip, leave us a good facebook review instead or like and share our page to say thank you.
