Event Description
This interactive workshop is developed by Family and Youth Institute and presents information on child development through the adolescent years, highlights diverse methods of helping teens through loving relationships, and covers effective communication tips and pointers in order to help strengthen connection through these potentially tough but essential teen years.
Presenter Bio
Hiat Saleh is a Community Educator at The Family and Youth Institute. She holds a Master’s in Psychology. She has served as a psychologist for the past 12 years in numerous public school districts at the elementary, middle and high school levels. As a school psychologist, Hiat conducts psycho-educational assessments, provides behavioral interventions and counseling for students as well as offers support for staff and parents. Hiat has been active with the Muslim community for the past 15 years. Her work within the community has primarily focused on youth, mentorship, pre-marriage and marriage education, social services, and mental health.
Event Details
Complementary lunch will be provided to those who rsvp by September 12, 2018.
Childcare will be available to those who are toilet trained.
