About this Event:
**APPROVED FOR NORTHERN LIGHTS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CREDITS**
The Vermont Community Loan Fund and Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance, in partnership with Elise Annes of Momentum Communications, will host a two-part series of 90-minute calls on tools, resources, and real life examples of effective communication for reopening and operating as a Early Care & Learning provider in Vermont, under COVID-19.
By thinking ahead, and creating a plan, you can communicate with intention and confidence to your families, community, and staff about new health and safety guidelines, changes to your program, and addressing sensitive topics.
Wednesday June 3rd, External Communication - 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Wednesday June 10th, Internal Communication - 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
What You Will Learn:
- How to create a simple, organized plan for communication and expectations
- Identify critical messages (and tone)
- Techniques for how and where to communicate
This Event Is Ideal For:
Child care providers, directors and managers of Early Care & Learning centers and after-school programs. This has been approved for Northern Lights professional development credits.
Before the Sessions:
- Computer or personal device with working speaker and microphone for participation.
- Zoom Meetings app or browser access to Zoom.
- Short survey of needs and current techniques to be sent in prior to the sessions
- If attending for Northern Lights, please have your BFIS credential ID ready
These calls will be informative and interactive. We encourage you to attend BOTH sessions to get the most out of this learning opportunity.
About Elise Annes of Momentum Communications:
Elise Annes is the principal of Momentum. Elise is a communications, marketing and organizational development consultant and has worked in this field for more than 25 years. Elise has worked for Yale University, the City of New Haven, Stonyfield Farm, World Cup Soccer, the Olympic Torch Relay, and the Coca-Cola Company. Most recently, Elise spent the last 15 years on the management team of the Vermont Land Trust, the nation’s most cutting-edge conservation organization based in one of the smallest states. She also served for 15 years as the co-chair for the Vermont Housing and Conservation Coalition.
Elise has an undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester in Economics and Political Science and an MBA from Yale University. Elise has also coached tennis, lacrosse, and soccer over the course of her life at the grade school and high school levels and was the Massachusetts Coach of the Year for Lacrosse in 1999, the year her girls team lost in the State Finals. Elise was a division III two-sport athlete (lacrosse and tennis), captained both teams, and was the University of Rochester NCAA Woman of the Year in 1993. Elise, and her husband Roy, have two daughters and a yellow labrador and live in Montpelier. They can often be found in the mountains, at the side of a soccer field or in an ice rink.
