Communication Network Summer Workshops and Meeting


Morning Session: Schools and the 2020 Census

Aparna Ramakrishnan, Census Coordinator for San Mateo County, will provide an overview of the Census and the County’s efforts to make sure everyone is counted. We will also provide information on communication and outreach resources and ask for your input on the types of support schools could use.

Afternoon Session: Communication Minis

What's in a Word? Make sure the words you use in your communication support students and reflect your values. Review of people-first, positive, and inclusive language.

Accessibility Problems with PDFs and How to Address Them. You probably can't stop using PDFs, but you can take some steps to reduce their use and make them accessible.

Using Video to Support Your Communication Goals. Video is an engaging way to highlight what's great about your schools. Learn how you can make video a regular part of your communication.

Wrap Up: The Year Ahead - Setting priorities and the schedule for 2019-20
