The Volusia/Flagler Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) will welcome Robert L. Sumwalt, Former Chair of the NTSB as the guest speaker at their January professional development luncheon. This meeting will be held on Thursday, January 19 at 11:30 a.m. in the Dennis McGee Room at the Daytona Beach International Airport.

Robert L. Sumwalt serves as Executive Director of the Center for Aviation and Aerospace Safety at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he is also a Distinguished Fellow in Aviation Safety. Sumwalt will speak on the topic "Communicating in the Wake of an Accident: Lesson from the Ashes".

Previously, Sumwalt served as Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Member of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), where he served from August 2006 to June 2021, after being appointed by Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald J. Trump.

Register by noon on January 16 at Lunch is included in the cost of $30 for members, $40 for non-members, and $15 for students. Walk-ins are accepted for a $5 additional surcharge.
