Communication is a core part of any trade union representative’s role – whether it’s consulting with members, taking notes at a meeting, mapping, presenting data and ideas or campaigning on an issue. It is important the reps are able to present ideas clearly and creatively to ensure they reach all parts of the membership.

This course will help reps to build on existing skills and consider different or new methods and tools to communicate effectively and coherently to members and on their behalf.

This course does this by providing an opportunity to learn about

- Writing formal emails

- Social media

- Note taking

- Preparing reports

- Creating campaign materials

- Surveys and petitions for engagement and action

- Newsletters

- Analysing data

This is a 2 day course spread over 2 weeks. Attendance is from 9.30am-4.30pm.
