Event description
Tell us your story about finding COMMON GROUND with an unlikely ally, neighbor, or stranger. We're looking for real life stories of unity!

About this Event

KUT and the Library Foundation are excited to partner for a community storytelling project titled COMMON GROUND. It begins with free creative writing workshops hosted by The Library Foundation’s Badgerdog Program at Austin Public Library branches. Participants will be guided by writer Sean Petrie (of Typewriter Rodeo) to craft personal stories about bridging differences with unlikely allies or people with experiences different from your own. Workshop participants will be invited to attend a revision workshop later this spring. Selected participants will work with KUT to bring their stories to life in audio. Stories will be broadcast on KUT Radio from June through November. Workshops are free and open to adults. Workshops will be capped at 20 participants.

ABOUT THE LIBRARY FOUNDATION: The Library Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that supports the Austin Public Library through fundraising, advocacy, and quality programs.
