Description and Welcome

The Commercial Law Symposium is an annual event that rotates among Canadian law schools, bringing together academics from across Canada to discuss current issues and research in commercial law. The Symposium also welcomes students and practicing lawyers with an interest in this area of law, affording a unique opportunity for the sharing of knowledge across the legal profession.

The University of Alberta Faculty of Law is delighted to host the third annual Commercial Law Symposium. We look forward to a terrific program featuring keynote speaker Professor Pamela Foohey from Maurer School of Law at Indiana University along with academic presenters and commentators from ten Canadian law faculties discussing topics in bankruptcy and insolvency, secured transactions, judgment enforcement and consumer debt.

The Symposium will be held in the Law Centre Room 201. Beverages and light refreshments will be provided. Attendees will have lunch on their own during the lunch break.

If you have any questions about this conference please contact the organizing committee, Professors Rod Wood, Tamara Buckwold and Anna Lund, at commercial.symposium@ualberta.ca.
