Event description

Description

Coming Together 2019 is presented by the Community Healing Centers in collaboration with the Specialty Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse at Western Michigan University. We seek to promote a better understanding of addiction and recovery by facilitating meaningful conversations and partnerships. Through the conference we will enhance public and professional knowledge of addiction and reduce the stigma associated with treatment and recovery. This conference will also provide professionals on the front line in treating substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions with the latest tools and knowledge in treatment. We will raise awareness of the programs and outreach services available in the community for those children, families, and individuals struggling in the shadows of addiction.

Professionals from medicine, the legal system, counseling, and higher education will be joined by outstanding national experts and spokespersons in a full day of presentations and workshops.

Join us. Be a part of our Coming Together: A Community Conference on Addiction and Recovery.

Don't forget to attend our FREE Community Event, featuring our keynote speaker Judge Peggy Fulton Hora (ret.), the evening of October 22nd at Dalton Lecture Hall, WMU from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. FREE Parking in the Miller Ramp, and light hor d'oeuvres will be served!
