Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM (EDT)
Lake Buena Vista, FL
Agriculture Institute of Florida Annual Meeting and Luncheon
Keynote: Susan Nardizzi, Fresh From Florida
AG-Vocate Award Presentation
Whether it's on oysters or okra, the “Fresh From Florida” mark symbolizes the best in agricultural and food products from our state. As consumer buying habits change, the Fresh From Florida program is using innovative marketing strategies based on these trends to help put your fresh products on dinner tables, in lunch boxes and on restaurant menus in the United States and abroad.
Susan Nardizzi, division director of marketing and development with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, will offer a closer look at marketing efforts and a sneak peek at new programs such as “On the Menu,” which encourages restaurants to feature more locally produced Florida foods. Find out how producers benefit from this statewide effort and learn how to use it to market your products more successfully.
The Ag Institute also will present its annual AG-Vocate award, which honors an individual for communicating effectively on behalf of Florida agriculture. Previous winners are Mac Carraway of SMR Farms, Joe Wright of V&W Farms, Bob Spencer of West Coast Tomato, and Keith Truenow of Lake Jem Farms.
To book a room at the Holiday Inn Walt Disney World Resort at the special Ag Institute rate of $95 a night, call 1-800-HOLIDAY and request the booking code FAI.
