A certified childbirth educator, will teach you and your support person comfort measures and relaxation techniques to help you during your labor and birth. Topics covered include relaxation, breathing excercises, birthing balls and massage. A basic knowledge of Prepared Childbirth education is essential to getting the most out of these techiniques. It is highly recommended that you attend a childbirth education class BEFORE taking this course.
Please be advised that this course covers comfort measures and relaxation techniques only. It does not cover the labor and delivery process, which is cover "The Gift of Motherhood".
What to bring: Please wear comfortable clothing (a pillow is optional).
Location: This class is held in the new Florida Hospital for Women. 1st Floor, Women's Community Education Center at 601 E. Rollins St., Orlando, FL 32803. Please park in the Alden Garage located at 2328 Alden Rd. The walkway into the hospital is on the 3rd level of the garage. Follow the signs for Florida Hospital for Women. The classroom is to the left at the bottom of the escalator.
Driving Directions: From I-4 West take the Princeton Street exit. Turn Left onto E. Princeton Street. Turn Left on Alden Rd. and enter the garage on the Left. From I-4 East take Princeton Street exit. Turn right onto E. Princeton Street. Turn Left on Alden Rd. and enter the garage on the Left.
Time: 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm.
Cost: The cost of the Comfort Measures for Labor and Birth class is $35.00 per couple.
