Comedians
Lara Ricote
This is the klein maar pittig Lara Ricote one of the most exciting acts the Amsterdam scene. This little Mexican is back in t' kikkerlandje after her travels performing around South America. She recently presented her first hour special “De Visita” in Argentina. “Fue un momento historico, porque ella, con sus chistes, la pega” said the Buenos Aires Times and if that doesn’t say something to you it’s ‘cause you don’t understand Spanish (they said HISTORIC). She’s political but you probably won’t notice ‘cause she slips it in… in a very innocent and non-rapey way. “Lara is living, breathing proof that homeopathy works and can be damn funny” said the American Medical Association. Deaf as shit, she misses about 30% of what’s happening and you’ll love her for it.
Koen West
Koen West is an absurdist comedian with a unique, or some would say twisted, view on the world. Get ready for hard-hitting humor, bizar scenarios and plenty of sad yet hilarious stories.
Franco Akerlund
What do you get when you mix Scandinavian genes with Latin blood? A disappointment to both parents. Raised in the Middle East, his jokes are written with as much insight and restraint as a teenager who’s just discovered crude language.
Alina Sharipova
Alina Sharipova is a Russian- Belgian comedian. Her friends often compare her to herpes, because she never really goes away. She says her dream job would be designing fortune cookies, but in the meantime stand up comedy will just have to do
Ken Parsons
Time Out dubbed him the Maestro of the Underground as he has been performing at and setting up events for comedy, music, spoken word and poetry for decades.
Top gigs include Glastonbury Festival, Cologne Comedy Festival, special guest headliner at Musical Comedy Awards in London and a comedy sketch on the mainstage to a packed Paradiso and recently as 'newsreader' in a stellar line up at the Roast of Britain, also at the Paradiso.
Daniel Hanemann
Daniel Hanemann has found that “Where are you from?” translates exceptionally well into any language, unlike his confusing answer “Hong Kong-born, Amsterdam-living, half-German, half-Taiwanese”. By day he does something with startups which is very hard to explain to his parents, by night he tries his hand at standup, which while much easier to explain, more than makes up for in disappointment. He has performed in Berlin, Hong Kong and all over the Netherlands, mainly because he happened to be there by coincidence.
