Event description

Description

Following the sucess of last year's 'Gift to the Community' Comedy Night, we have booked.....

Preston’s very own funnyman Tony Vino (**** The Scotsman) has been touring the comedy scene since early 2005. Well aware of social and political issues he mixes friendly well thought out observational humour with audience interaction and quick witted responses. A finalist in 2006 Funny Bones competition, Tony has enjoyed recognition as a comedian and comedy compere of renown. His life and interests are wide ranging and so is the subject matter he weaves together on stage.

Next year Tony will be bringing out a new book, working title ‘In Vino Veritas’. A collection of stories and reflection on the faith, comedy and modern life as a man. It draws together many themes found in his podcast ‘Holy Balls (Male Banter with a Spiritual Twist)’ and his writings for Christian men’s magazine Sorted. Last year he hosted residencies at Spring Harvest and Greenbelt, whilst at a number of Edinburgh Festivals he hosted the Clean (As Possible) Comedy Show.

He is a well sought after act for high profile fundraising events for charities as Christian Aid, Oxfam, Fairtrade Foundation and TearFund. He was also the official warm up comedian for BBC Songs of Praise (tough crowd).
