Gone Fishin’ was born in 2015 with three friends and a dream. Playing afterschool in their parent’s garage, the core trio of Brennan Jung, Runar Anderson Schmidt, and Ryan Cohen quickly began to develop their sound. They gained notoriety in the San Francisco music scene playing shows at house parties and local clubs. Their debut album “Too Much Honey” came out in 2018 to popular and critical acclaim as they all left home and spread across the country for college.

            With the boys no longer living in the same town, the future of Gone Fishin’ was up in the air. However, the distance brought the band even closer and led them to be more productive than before. During their semesters apart the band would write new material and book shows so they could hit the studio and hit the road when they were back together over breaks.

            2019 brought the release of their EP “Thump.” The beginning of a new chapter for the band as each of the members stood on the precipice of adulthood.

           Gone Fishin’s second full length album “Dance Don’t Walk” is their most exciting release yet. From the heart racing and upbeat “1965” to the laid back “If It Ain’t You” it is impossible to listen without smiling from ear to ear. Their songwriting has matured, and their production is improved, but their music still contains all the fun and excitement of those same three friends trying to figure out love, life, and growing up.

We are Flamango Bay, an indie pop rock band from the Bay Area! When we started playing together in middle school, we barely knew each other. Four years of high school and a pandemic later; we live together in our LA apartment. We each come from diverse musical backgrounds. You can hear the influence of 90’s alternative, garage rock, and emo pop to r&b, funk, and jazz. Bands like Fashion Jackson, Paramore, Vulfpeck, Beabadoobee, and Small Crush and artists like Stevie Wonder, Sza, Mitski, Frank Ocean and Harry Styles are some of our favorites.

We have been shaped by the Bay Area in every way. We are inspired by activism and motivated by the desperate need for change. As a female fronted, predominantly queer band, it is our goal to make the California indie scene a safe space for everyone. We want to build up a community in which there’s mutual respect between bands and their audiences. Everyone deserves a place in the scene, except for racists, abusers, homophobes, transphobes etc.
