Description

The Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra is happy to present "Come Play with Us!" as the theme of this year's family friendly concert. The concert will include a performance of Haydn's Toy symphony. Children from the audience will be invited up to play small toy percussion instruments such as shakers, rattles, and whistles with the orchestra under the direction of our conductor Dr. Dimitar Nikolov. These instruments will be provided free of charge. Those audience members who perform with the orchestra will be able to keep the toy instruments. Presented will also be Camille Saint-Saëns'- The Carnival of the Animals. As multi-media presentation a video presentation of the animals highlighted by the soloists. In support of the arts, pictures drawn by local city public school students will be included in the presentation. To encourage music in our schools, a drawing will be held for two children's violins at the conclusion of the concert. To be eligible for the drawing the child has to be present, accompanied by a parent or guardian, and enrolled in the Baltimore City Public School system in grades K-12.
