COME DOWN TONIGHT RICKETS ONLY $ 10 at the DOOR!
Believe it!  Last year it sold-out the Henry Miller Library, this year, we're taking it to the next level, all rugged outdoors-like: REEL ROCK 8 at the Golden State Theater in downtown Monterey!

It'll be the most affordable opportunity to see these amazing films in the entirety of Central California!  Oh, and it'll be at the best theater too.

What is Reel Rock?

Reel Rock is the world’s greatest climbing and adventure stories. On Tour, DVD, and TV.  (Blurbs on featured films at the bottom.)

The REEL ROCK Film Tour brings the best climbing and adventure films of the year to live audiences throughout the world. REEL ROCK shows are high energy, community events that go beyond mere film screenings to include prize giveaways, athlete and filmmaker appearances, non-profit fundraising, and a party atmosphere.

Founded in 2006 by groundbreaking filmmakers Josh Lowell (Big UP Productions) and Peter Mortimer (Sender Films), REEL ROCK has grown to over 400 events per year, reaching over 100,000 audience members and raising over $20,000 for non-profits.

But there's more!  The evening will include drinks, live music from Tetra Bomb, raffle prizes, and many other surprises: all for $10!

Here are the films!

The Sensei: At the top of his class, Daniel Woods is establishing some of the hardest first ascents in the bouldering world right now. Near retirement, Yuji Hirayama is a climbing legend still crushing hard boulder problems and sport routes, but is looking to close out his career with few more epic adventures.

Woods and Hirayama team up to climb a route at the summit of Mount Kinabalu, on the island of Borneo. They will need to conjure all their focus, determination, a lifetime of training, and most of all, each other, to complete their climb.

Spice Girl: UK trad climbers are a special breed of crazy. Now, it's not just an "Only Boys Allowed" club. Hazel Findlay is a powerful little blonde girl, who has the crazy needed to climb the sketchy, crumbly, and dangerous routes on the British Isles. Findlay teams up with Emily Harrington for a trip to Morocco, where the two climb Taghia Gorge, and show the climbing world that girls can climb just as hard, and at times harder, than the boys.

High Tension - Ueli Steck and the Clash on Everest: It's the tallest mountain in the world, so of course it'll attract every kind of adventurer with something to prove on a mountain. This film documents, fly-on-the-wall style, the incident between alpine climbing's strongest duo (Ueli Steck and Simone Moro) and Sherpas at Mount Everest's camp 2. Steck and Moro didn't think they would make it off the mountain alive, and Reel Rock was there to tell the story.

The Stone Masters: Yosemite for climbers is Mecca. The best in the world come to the valley every year to climb El Cap, Half Dome, Mount Watkins, etc. Not too long ago, in the bygone era before cell phones, Wi-Fi, and dash mounted GPS systems, which is called the 1970's, climbers in Yosemite lived a "sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll" lifestyle, while climbing as hard as anyone in the world. Park rangers took exception to their shenanigans, and from there it was a cat and mouse game between law enforcement and climbing's counter-culture. This film is part of a longer, yet to be released, feature film that is currently being produced by Sender Films and Reel Rock.
