Combined Accessibility DC and NIB Professional Networking event - March 20, 2012

The monthly accessibility meet-up for Accessibility DC (A11yDC) will be combined this month with the quarterly National Industries for the Blind (NIB) Professional Networking Event which is usually held at NIB headquarters in Alexandria. The combined event will be from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on Tuesday, March 20th, 2012, on the second floor west lobby and room 215 of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, and will feature networking and presentations from Brian Hurley and John F. Croston III on the CSUN Assistive Technology Conference.

The NIB Professional Networking Event is a quarterly forum for a diverse and experience-rich network of professionals who are affected by vision loss or blindness. Professionals from any type of career who are visually impaired or blind are welcome to attend. Attire is business casual. If you aspire to be a professional you are welcome to attend. Join us to share best practices, resources and contact information.
AccessibilityDC is a monthly meet-up on the third Tuesday of every month and a chance for people who are interested in Accessibility to get together and share information. Web Developers who are interested in Web Accessibility and Adaptive Technology Users who have a daily experience of accessibility issues are all welcome to attend.
Below is a breakdown of the schedule and how the meeting will unfold. Would greatly appreciate it if you can make sure you are on time so we can get started on time.
6:30 PM - 6:45 PM - Welcome everyone.
6:45 PM - 7:45 PM - This month's Accessibility DC meetup will feature Brian Hurley, Public Affairs Program Director at the NIB and John F Croston III, organizer of Accessibility DC, giving updates on their experiences in San Diego at the California State University Northridge (CSUN) 27th Annual International Technology and Persons with Disabilities Conference.
7:45 PM - 8:30 PM - After Brian and John talk we will go into networking and refreshments.
