Event description
A safe space for Black, Indigenous, and other young people of color to connect online while exploring topics important to them.

About this Event

Session 1: 10/19/20- 11/09/20

Session 2: 11/16/20- 12/14/20 (none on 11/23)

Meets virtually every Monday from 4-5pm (PST).

Sheltering in place has made a lot of us feel alone. This is especially true for our queer youth of color.

Colorful Queers is a group for Black, Indigenous, and other young people of color. Being both LGBT2QIA and a person of color comes with unique challenges. During this moment, when the civil rights of BIPOC are at the forefront like never before, HIFY wants to ensure that queer and trans youth of color get the support they need.

Colorful Queers is here to provide a safe space for sexual and gender minority high schoolers, ages 13-18, to connect online while exploring topics important to them. This is an ongoing cyber-circle for youth across the gender and sexuality spectrum to come together and celebrate who they are. Topics will include Queer history, sexual safety and health, what it means to be both queer or trans and a person of color, navigating coming out and more.

*Please be aware that we will be tackling sensitive topics such as STIs and HIV, sexuality & gender identity, and substance use & drugs effects.*

*Limited number of sliding scale slots available. Please contact enrichment@hi4youth.org for more information*
