Interactive webinar series with a varied host of speakers that will outline various aspects of the 2020 wildfire season.

Record-breaking wildfires were just one of the remarkable things about 2020. What factors contributed to these catastrophic fires? In this interactive webinar series, we will be discussing several aspects of the 2020 wildfire season. This series will draw from a variety of experience from fire managers, fire policy experts, and fire scientists.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Regional fire history, ecology, and policy
  • Factors contributing to large fire growth
  • Prevention tactics involved in increased future wildfire resilience
  • Short and long-term land management and outlook

This series will be offered in combination with ECOL 592: Colorado Wildfires of 2020, a graduate-level ecology class through Colorado State University. See below for Continuing Education Credits through the Society of American Foresters.

Registrants will be sent a Zoom link for participation. Link is located at the bottom of your Order Confirmation e-mail.

Continuing Education Credits:

1) If you wish to earn continuing education credits through SAF or other professional organization, you must respond to our Google Form.

2) Read details on SAF Continuing Education credits HERE. Society of American Foresters is offering 1 CAT 1 credit per webinar session. Credits from additional organizations will be handled on a case-by-case basis

3) Attendees are responsible for filing for post-event credits.

All webinars will be recorded and posted to the Southern Rockies Fire Science Network YouTube channel.
