Event description
Supporting school leaders in the implementation of the revised Colorado Academic Standards for Science

About this event

The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and the Colorado Science Education Network (CSEN) are proud to partner with the team at BSCS Science Learning to offer this one-day learning opportunity tailored to support school leaders. Located in Colorado Springs, BSCS Science Learning, is a national leader in supporting science teaching and learning through research-driven innovation.

The new Colorado Academic Standards for science presents an important opportunity to make science learning more meaningful and effective. But they also call for a significant shift in teaching and present a real challenge to teachers. This event is specifically designed to support school leaders (principals and school administrators) as they prepare to implement the revised Colorado State Science Standards in the coming school year. Participants will engage in standards aligned-learning experiences, discuss shifts in instruction and assessment, have the opportunity to plan and connect with colleagues from around the state, and learn about resources they can leverage to support their local implementation processes.

Due to COVID restrictions, this session will be hosted online via Zoom. Links to sessions will be sent out in the final confirmation email. Sessions will be interactive. Main sessions will be recorded and posted for registered attendees unless otherwise noted.

For questions prior to the conference reach out to CDE, Science Content Specialist, Maya M. Garcia via email at Garcia_Maya@cde.state.co.us
