What “Color Splash 5K” will consist of is a 5K (3.1 mile) run throughout the CSUEB, Hayward campus on October 23, 2016 (Sunday). While the participants are running, they will be showered with powdered paint (similar to a “Color Run”). The goal is for each runner to enjoy themselves all while raising funds and awareness for a worthy cause. Each participant will receive a customized "Color Splash 5K" shirt and runner bib specifically customized for this event. Throughout the event we will have entertainment such as, DJ Good Journey, Season 8 “The Voice” contestant Joe Tolo (Brother of TKE) and other performers wanting to showcase their talent at the end of the run events. We will close it out with a raffle. ANY and ALL profits that day will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
How much does it cost to participate?
We have three different ticket types. The first ticket type is for Cal State East Bay students/staff/faculty, which is available for $20. The second ticket type is for children ages 12 and under for $20 as well. The third ticket type is for the general public ages 13 and up for $25. Eventbrite does charge a small convience fee of about $2 or less per ticket.
What exactly am I paying for?
Each participant who pays will recieve a "Color Splash 5K" T-Shirt and runner bib. Also the money collected from the tickets will support hosting the event with ANY and ALL profits going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
I still haven't received my follow up email with details for the event after I registered for the event, what should I do?
Please email us at TKE@csueastbay.edu so we can send all that information over to you.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
If you are a student/staff/faculty, please bring your CSUEB BayCard. If you are not a student please bring Government ID. Anyone is allowed to enter the event, but we require those under the age of 18 to have a parent/guardian sign a minor consent form. For that form please email TKE@csueastbay.edu asking for the consent form.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
AC Transit operates Bus #60 between the Hayward BART station and the CSUEB campus: Fees, schedules, and maps are available on AC Transit's Rider Info site. Guests are also served by a free shuttle between CSUEB and the Hayward and Castro Valley BART stations. The shuttle stop on campus is located outside of the Recreation and Wellness center. This dedicated route for the CSUEB community runs Monday through Sunday during the Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters and Monday through Friday during the Summer Quarter, excluding campus closures and holidays; boarding priority will be given to riders with a valid CSUEB ID Card.
What can't I bring to the event?
You will not be allowed to use any skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, bicycles, and hooverboards throughout the course. We also discourage participants to use any musical devices with earphones for your safety just in case you need to hear any directions from staff.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Registration/Tickets are ONLY transferrable to family or friends in case that the participant is injured and can no longer make it to the event. Please let us know through TKE@csueastbay.edu by October 14th of this change.
Can I update my registration information?
During registration we only ask for general information. If you wish to update this please email TKE@csueastbay.edu so we can have the most accurate information.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes please bring the printed ticket to the event along with government identification or CSU East Bay BayCard.
What is the refund policy?
Unfortunately we will not be offering a refund policy since ALL profits will be going to St. Jude's Children Hospital. St. Jude's will definitely appreciate the donation. You're doing this for a great cause!
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
No, we need each registration/ticket to be accounted for. We ask that if you plan to transfer the ticket you let us know by October 14th. Unfortunately, if the name doesn't match then you won't be allowed to participate.
