The “Color Me Cameron” 5K celebrates Cameron’s life the way he lived it. Cameron is known for his outgoing personality. He loved everyone. He met no strangers. He was always the first one to pop up out of nowhere and say “Hi, I’m Cameron”, and give you a great big bear hug, as he was known to do to his friends and strangers alike. If you met him once, you knew him. He was never to be forgotten by anyone. One meeting with him and you were hooked. He was one who was easy to love and hard to hate. You could never stay mad at him long because he would flash his signature smile of his and you would give in. It has been best said by those who knew him, “He brought color to a gray world.”

Four $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually in Cameron's memory to Pulaski County High School graduating seniors. Jake Clary, Class of 2016 writes, “The Cameron Fitzwater Memorial Scholarship gives me the ability and honor to represent our amazing county, as well as Cameron and the things for which he stood. This scholarship allows me to live life through Cameron, as I study my passions and aspirations of the sciences and animals at Davidson College. I believe I have discovered one of my major passions in life through volunteering with the Bonner Scholars Program at Davidson--conserving the world's wild and endangered animals! I was able to use the monetary reward from the scholarship to help me slightly with tuition, and even to begin a deposit for a volunteer project I will embark in this summer in South Africa and Seychelles to help the wild animals of the world.”

Bring your friends or make new ones along the way.

Jjoin us for an unforgettable day of laughter, friendship, color, music, dancing, door prizes and more color!
