Description

Two-day workshop: Saturday, Feb 16, from 10-4 & Sunday, Feb 17, from 12:30-4:30

Do you want to create gorgeous paintings, but you're not really sure how color works? Have you ever sat down to paint a scene, but the colors wound up looking juvenile and incomplete? Not to worry! In this acrylic class, you'll learn how to paint all of the colors of found in nature. You'll develop your eye for mixing, tinting, shading, creating earth tones, and neutrals! Find out how to combine colors that pop! Learn how to avoid mucky, muddy paintings. By the end of the weekend, you'll have your own hand-painted color wheels and scales for future reference as well as a comprehensive understanding of how color mixing works.

Stop wasting money on tubes that you could mix, instead! Now you’ll have the confidence to achieve more convincing color palettes and dazzle your viewers!

This class is perfect for all experience levels!

Guess what?! All of the professional grade acrylic paint is provided for free courtesy of Golden Paints!

Here's what you'll need to bring:

  1. A tablet of canvas paper - 11x14" or closest.

  2. A flat palette for acrylic painting (also 11x14 or closest) with no wells. Disposable palette sheets work well for clean up.

  3. Synthetic bristle brush: Size 8 "bright" or "flat" brush.

  4. A rag

  5. Pencil

  6. A compass for drawing circles (optional). You can also eyeball your circles for your color wheel. It's more about the colors than drawing perfect circles. If you don't have a compass, bring a ruler instead - or both.

  7. Clothing that you can get messy or an apron

  8. A beverage.

  9. A brown bag lunch or lunch money for one of the close-by restaurants. We will have 45 minutes for lunch on Saturday. On Sunday class is shorter, so please have lunch before. You can bring snacks, too.

Street parking is free on the weekends, except at the meters. Try to park on 26th for all-day parking.
