Color and Light
Learn the fundamentals of icon painting from acclaimed iconographer George Kordis. Color and Light is an intensive, five-day workshop that immerses participants in the theory and practice of icon painting in the Byzantine tradition. Working alongside George Kordis, students paint their own icon using egg tempera.
George Kordis has painted churches throughout Greece and on Mount Athos, North America, and the Middle East. He regularly teaches iconography workshops in the United States and Europe. He holds a PhD in Byzantine Art from the University of Athens where he was Professor of Byzantine Art until 2013.
