What We Will Cover

How to write a college admission essay - Our workshop is designed for rising high school seniors to provide them the necessary direction to create a unique and effective personal essay that will stand out! Our coaches will help you choose appropriate topics and themes using college prompts and guide you through the process of creating a coherent and flowing piece through engaging language.

What You Will Gain

Seniors will finish the workshop with a completed outline for the Common Application essay. This will be followed up with a one-hour private session to further advance the essay with one of the instructors. This session is included in the registration fee. Additional lessons are available with an added fee including any support to craft supplemental essays required by colleges.

Adela Penagos

Adela PenaglosAdela Penagos, PhD, Futuro Enlightened's President, has over 17 years of academic advising, teaching, and admissions experience between Harvard, the University of Notre Dame, and Boston College. As a teacher, she is able to help students craft an admissions essay to persuade their readers; as a former admission officer, she understands how your essay can set you apart from thousands of applicants; and as a writer (her academic background is in literature), she will help you structure your essay in such a way that your story will be compelling. More importantly, she will help you enjoy the essay writing process.

Erin Quint

Erin QuintErin Quint has over 13 years of experience working with pre-college students on writing, standardized test prep, critical thinking, and college applications. She presents fun, interactive, and engaging classes in a truly open classroom environments. Her approach to writing college admissions essays is open, engaging, and holistic. Students learn to enjoy the process of self-exploration that is essential to the writing and college application process and write winning essays that show off true personality and qualifications. Her students’ results speak for themselves; Erin has helped numerous students get into the school of their dreams. Erin has a B.A. from Tufts University and a M.Ed. From Harvard University.
