You've started your business and are ready to explore your funding options. Do you have a viable business idea that is attractive to venture capital firms or do you have a 'mom & pop' model? Do you bootstrap, harness a relationship with an angel investor or do you start a crowdfunding campaign instead?

Collectively Savvy will feature venture capitalists, incubators and crowdfunding platforms who will guide you towards creating a plan that is ideal for your business entity and fundraising goals.

Meet Our Speakers:

Kelly Fryers is the Program Manager for Techstars' Barclays Accelerator in NYC. Alongside the Managing Director, she recruits & selects top companies, oversees all activities in the accelerator program, and engages with founders to drive them toward success. She loves working with entrepreneurs to better understand their customers, develop an ideal business model, and find the talent to make the company a success. Kelly is especially interested in helping diverse founders to get access to the resources they need. Prior to Techstars, Kelly received her MBA from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, where she focused on Corporate Innovation strategies and Venture Development. She ran the university's Hoosier Hatchery and incubated a new line of business for Direct Supply Company. Kelly also spent several years running the custom index business for Bloomberg LP and building out their professional development strategy.

Marcus Glover is devoted to investing and advising early stage ventures. He also holds a deep commitment to social justice and criminal justice reform serving as a board member of New York Tri State Board of Directors for DefyVentures.org and LiberationPrisonYoga.org. Through his work with these organizations, Marcus has become a dedicated mentor to incarcerated men, women and youth and also volunteers as a yoga and meditation instructor leading juvenile programs at Rikers Island Prison. Over the years, Marcus has also created successful ventures with some of the world’s most beloved celebrities including the Muhammad Ali, GOAT Snack food company in partnership with Masterfoods/ M&M’s, The S.Carter Footwear Company, a partnership between Jay-Z and Reebok, Ekocycle sustainable apparel, a partnership between the Coca-Cola Company and will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas and TRUKFIT, skate apparel company, an apparel venture with Lil Wayne.

Sallie Jian manages SAP's founder-friendly, no-equity SAP.iO Foundry accelerator program in NYC. Prior to SAP.iO, she led the Venture Capital team at SeedInvest. Prior to SeedInvest, Sallie served as CFO and Head of Business Development at Savile Row Society, a men’s e-commerce startup. There, she led business operations and executed firm initiatives around finance, revenue generation, customer acquisition, and business development. She also spent time at Morgan Stanley Technology Investment Banking in Silicon Valley and General Atlantic in NYC. Sallie graduated from the Haas Business School at UC Berkeley.
