Collaborative Listening for Relationship Building - A Four-Part Workshop

About this Event

Be apart of Greenblet's 100!

Prince George's Community Collaborative Resolution Center (PGCCRC) invites the City of Greenbelt to Collaborative Listening for Relationship Building Series. Join us as we redefine communication individually and in our community. Participants will develop skills to nurture open and honest dialogue and to address and effectively navigate conflict.

Attendees must complete all four workshops to receive a certificate.

All workshops are free and will be conducted via zoom.

Workshop descriptions are below:

April. 10th - Listening When It’s Hard- "Listening When It's Hard " will show participants how to notice when their judgments get in the way of hearing what's important to others. Participants will learn how to work on understanding, especially when they disagree with what is being said. Building understanding is key to healing personal relationships and social injustices.

April. 17th - Speaking When Emotions are High -In “Speaking When Emotions are High” participants will learn how to speak, pulling from inclusive listening methods taught in “Listening When it’s Hard”. Speaking in this way allows participants to passionately convey ideas, while feeling heard.

April. 24th -Questions that Encourage Understanding- Teaches how to ask questions in a way that unpacks hard conversations, builds understanding, and avoids making people feel judged and defensive. “Brainstorming for Agreements and Resolutions” Builds upon “Speaking When Emotions are High” and "Questions that Encourage Understanding" providing participants with tools to harness ideas that build agreements in which there is consensus among everyone involved.

May 1st- Brainstorming for Agreements and Resolutions- Builds upon “Speaking When Emotions are High” and "Questions that Encourage Understanding," providing participants with tools to harness ideas that build agreements in which there is consensus among everyone involved.
