Event description

A One-Day Leadership Development Opportunity

Leadership requires strong collaboration to thrive in today’s environment. Reaching across teams within your organization and working in partnership with other organizations or public entities is part of what leaders do to address complex conservation and environmental challenges. Whether you are a director or manager, if you work collaboratively – in a partnership, collaboration, coalition, network, alliance, or even across departments within your organization – you know well the opportunities and challenges of working together effectively.

This leadership training will strengthen your ability to define and accomplish collaborative goals.

Join a small group of environmental and conservation leaders for a highly interactive, faculty-led learning opportunity to build your leadership skills. You will walk away with new insights, tools, and approaches to apply directly to your work, as well as with new peer relationships to fuel your ongoing learning and success.

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

Know the Five Keys to leading in a collaborative setting

Practice skills in managing collaborative decision-making processes

Understand and apply the core principles of network thinking

Create a plan for implementing new practices in collaborative leadership

Be more confident in their skills to lead in a collaborative setting

Utilize a network of peers to gain practical examples and ongoing support

Who Should Attend

This leadership training is for all staff and volunteer leaders who work in a collaborative setting, whether it is through nonprofits, businesses, the government, or across multiple sectors. It may be especially attractive for key staff who support community engagement or advocacy efforts, and for new or emerging leaders.
