Event description

Description

The Human Impacts Institute and the German Consulate General in NYC invite you to join us for Collaboration Across Borders, a one-night Human Impacts Salon with live performance that explores how we are working together in innovative ways to take climate action.

With original climate-inspired works performed by Lemon Guo, Angel Nafis, Lyla June Johnston, and the world premier of "Think Like A Kid". Stay for conversation with special guests, including:

  • Jacqueline Patterson, Director of the NAACP Environmental and Climate Justice Program

  • Lyla June Johnston, Fellow with the Original Caretakers Initiative and Co-Founder of The Taos Peace and Reconciliation Council

  • Anton Hufnagl, First Secretary of Climate, Environmental and Urban Affairs for the German Embassy to the U.S.

  • Karenna Gore, Director of the Center for Earth Ethics at Union Theological Seminary, Columbia University

  • Donnel Baird, Founder of BlocPower

  • Representative, 100 Resilient Cities pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation

Stay for drinks and small bites, while networking with our diverse audience of policymakers, activists, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit leaders. And get inspired with our first NYC showing of the Human Impacts Institute's Impact Stories exhibit of Bridging the Divide--stories from across the U.S. and Germany of inspiring individuals who are world's apart on the map, but are neighbors in action on how they take on climate change.

Human Impacts NYC is a celebration of innovation and collaboration for Climate Diplo Day 2017 and part of our Human Impacts Salon series. Our 2017 partners include:

  • Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in NYC

  • Consulate General of the Netherlands in NYC

  • EU Permanent Mission to the United Nations

  • Center for Earth Ethics

At the Human Impacts Institute, we inspire YOU to transform environmental challenges into social action through hands-on education, creative communication, and coalition building.
