ColdBox BootCamp At Scotch On The Rocks 2014

We will be holding an amazing ColdBox BootCamp before this year's Scotch on the Rocks conference from June 2rd to the 4th of 2014. This bootcamp will include a medley of our professional training courses and lead by ColdBox creator Luis Majano. We will be reviewing the major portions of these courses, building applications and tons of hands on excercises. Whether your are a newbie to ColdBox or a seasoned developer, this training will surely sharpen your skills in no time.

Course Synopsis

The first two days of this BootCamp will get you the basics of MVC architecture, ColdBox MVC, Dependency Injection, OO Modeling and so much more. We will also be building an entire application from basics to advanced topics until we reach our third day where will be testing, yes testing, everything we built. CBOX 204 will introduce you to unit, BDD, and integration testing using our very own TestBox Testing Framework. So you will have a first hands approach to Test Driven + Behavior Driven Development and Mocking concepts. Time permitted, we will be able to connect our tests to Jenkins Continuous Integration server and create a CI environment for our applications.

CBOX 101 - Core ColdBox

CBOX-204: Testing, Mocking, Stubbing, Oh My!

CBOX-204 is one of our advanced courses that focus on testing principles, TDD (Test Driven Development), mocking and ColdBox application testing. In this 1-day course you will be exposed to testing theory, types of tests, working with TestBox, application testing, tools of the trade and finally learn about Mocking and Stub objects. You will have both theory and hands on workshops that will sharpen your skills and challenge you.

Objectives

This course will enhance your application toolbox and development skills.

• Understand the theory and principles behind software testing
• Understand all types of testing and know when to apply them
• Review tools of the trade for TDD and CI (Continuous Integration)
• Everything you wanted to know about TestBox
• Apply testing to your applications with a focus on ColdBox applications

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

What can/can't I bring to the event?

You will need to bring your own laptop ( desktop is up to you :) ) ready with wither Adobe ColdFusion or Railo as your CFML engine. Please make sure that you have a working CF engine and Web Server in your machine. You will also require a local database for the hands on portions of the training. You will also need to bring some vitamins and plenty of energy, you will need it!

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes, but you will need to let us know with at least 2 weeks in advance.

Can I update my registration information?

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, but if you do, you might get some goodies!

What is the refund policy?

We will refund your entry fee with an administration fee of £200 pounds if we have not ordered any materials for you. If you cancel after we have purchased materials for you the cancellation fee goes up to £500 pounds per person.
