COLA20 Salon Conversation: COLA Artist Couples
Sun, April 30, 2017, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM PDT
To celebrate the first twenty years of the COLA Individual Artist Fellowship Program, The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs is organizing an anniversary exhibition to take place from April 23, 2017 to July 2, 2017. The salon conversations will play a central role in highlighting some important themes in the LA art scene and fostering intergenerational conversations, as well as allowing all of us to network with new and old friends.
In drafting topics for the salon conversations, we noticed a number of couples who have received the City of Los Angeles Individual Artist Fellowship Grant across the years. Hence, one of the dialogues included for the COLA 20 salon conversations will center on the experience of living as a two-artist household. This casual dialogue (in the form of a potluck dinner) is open for COLA artist+COLA artist couples and COLA artist+artist couples. After sharing bread and meeting new and old friends, we would like to collect individual and collective thoughts about the benefits and challenges of living in LA (or anywhere) as a two-artist household.
This conversation is hosted by Miyoshi Barosh and Jeff Colson
This conversation is open to all former COLA fellows and their partners, but will be capped at 10 couples total. Please note all salon conversations are private, but there will be a videographer on site to document the conversations. The documentation will be included in the COLA20 exhibition and accompanying catalog.
The address for this salon conversation will be provided upon RSVP. When registering, please include both names for the couple attending.
