Event description

Description

This is a unique opportunity to join an organized tour of three Seattle area cohousing featuring rural, suburban and uban settings - Sharingwood in Snohomish county, Songaia in Bothell, and Jackson Place in Seattle. We’ll learn directly from community members what it is like to live in a community and neighborhood that focuses on sustainability, strong social bonds and living lighter on the planet.

While traveling together on a comfortable tour bus, we will have a facilitated workshop led by Grace Kim. As a nationally recognized expert on cohousing (check out her TEDtalk), Grace will offer her insights and share her vast knowledge.

Whether you are brand new to the idea of cohousing or you are in the process of forming a group, this tour will offer a valuable group experience.

Lunch will be included.

Bus will leave promptly at 10 am, so be sure and arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure.

Space is limited. Register early.

What is Cohousing?
Cohousing is an intentional community or neighborhood where people know and look after each other. Each household has a private residence with all the amenities you would find in a typical dwelling (kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living spaces) giving autonomy to each household. Members of a cohousing come together to actively create and share in community organizing around common characteristics like building relationships, neighborhood design, community participation, and shared values. Cohousing is often pedestrian-friendly, managed, maintained, and governed by the residents, and includes participation is shared activities and meals. To learn more about cohousing visit the Cohousing Association of the United States
